[THIERS MANUSCRIPT]. PICARD DE LA LANDE. Inventory of the Titles of the City, Land and Barony of Thiers. 1663. Manuscript 1878, in-8. Approximately 140 unencrypted leaves. Red half-maroquin, spine ribbed, gilt title (modern binding). Nineteenth-century manuscript copy of the inventory drawn up in 1663 by Pierre Picard, sieur de la Caude, for Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, baroness of Thiers. This copy was made by Doctor Octave de Viry (Noiretable) with a view to publication. The Director of the Archives Nationales granted him permission in a letter dated September 7, 1878, which is attached at the head of the book. Picard's document "contains a detailed analysis of a large number of charters, acts of faith, homage, confessions and enumerations, contracts of sale, exchange, donation and sharing, not to mention the precious indication of eighty volumes of terriers, most of which are now lost". The manuscript does not appear to have been published.
