Published for the first time based on manuscripts from the Royal Library, with an introduction by Louis Batissier and illustrated with engravings by Schaal. Moulins, Desrosiers, 1838, in-4 (25.5 x 34 cm), engraved title page—28 pp.—63 unnumbered folios—14 plates. First publication of a curious 15th-century manuscript preserved at the Royal Library, which had caught the attention of the Bourbonnais historian Achille Allier due to the figures who appear in it, either prominently or in passing. It is a collection of letters and allegorical poems exchanged among four individuals: G. Chastellain, Jean Robertet, M. de La Rière (squire to a Duchess of Bourbon), and M. de Montferrand (governor of Jacques de Bourbon). Following this correspondence is the collection *Les Douze dames*… a series of twelve poems on science, eloquence, profundity, the gravity of the senses, etc. Upon A. Allier’s death, Desrosiers entrusted the publication to Louis Batissier, who authored the introduction and the historical, critical, and philological notes. The print run was limited to 300 copies. (See *L’Art en Province* II, p. 290, and III, pp. 45–52). - QUEYROY (collection).
